Transportation Information

Based on School Board Policy, students who live within 1 mile walking area of the school or who live outside of the boundary of the school district must provide their own transportation to school.  As such, some bus stops are only for students from certain schools. Furthermore, due to some difficult conditions, school bus stops  may have to be placed only at the entrances to some neighborhoods.

Current bus routes will be posted on District website.  Please pay close attention to Village Green, Carbon River, Rainier Meadows.  Certain bus stops are for certain grade levels only.  It will specify on the route K-2 only, PTR must walk, OHS only, OMS must walk.  OMS only—High school walks.  No exceptions, due to funding within the walking mile.

Elementary bus tags will be passed out at Open house for all K-5.  If you do not receive a bus pass and you know your student rides a bus, please put them on the bus and the school will make sure your student gets a bus pass.  Students must wear their bus tags daily, and be visible to the driver.  If they lose one, please go to the office and get a new one.

Students who ride the school bus must be at their bus stop 5 minutes prior to the scheduled bus arrival.

School Bus Stop Safety: What WSP Wants All Drivers To Know

SPOKANE, Wash. - A new school year will be soon starting and many of our children will be riding the buses to and from school. The Washington State Patrol would like you to take a few minutes to refresh your knowledge on how to drive safely around school buses as they are picking up and dropping off our children.

The WSP has posted a video discussing rules of the road and driving safety around the school buses; when you have to stop and when may proceed. The School Bus Stop Rules video is posted click here.

The law states the $394 fine for failure to stop for a school bus cannot be reduced, suspended, or waived. If you get a ticket for failure to stop for a school bus you will pay the full amount.

We cannot stress enough how important it is to practice safe driving, especially when children are present.
