We are excited to be working on the attribute of GRATITUDE this month. This is choosing to notice and appreciate things in our life, things in others, and things in the world. Students in each classroom are talking about what gratitude is and ways to show it. I am grateful for our students and the stories they have to tell me each day. So many of our students are excited to show the tooth they lost last night, tell me about their new puppy, show me the sentence they wrote, or tell me about the goal they just set. This is the heart of our work!
I also wanted to share that the Orting School District is running a replacement levy on the February 11th election. Visit our levy website
to learn what levy dollars are used for. Levies are for learning! This is a replacement that is run every two years and is not a new tax. Please see the attachment to learn more about the replacement levy.
We will be hosting our annual Read Across Orting night at OPS on March 4th from 5:45-7:30. Doors will open at 5:45 with read alouds promptly starting at 6. This is a chance for our Orting families to enjoy the magic of the read aloud together. We have a few slots for parents and community members who are interested in reading at our event. Please contact Brittnee Smith at email@example.com
if interested no later than February 6th. We are also accepting book donations for our book giveaway. If you would like to donate please do so by February 28th. Otherwise, mark your calendars for this special event. We look forward to seeing you there.
