Orting, a one-time farming and logging town has evolved into a suburb of Tacoma and Seattle. The Orting valley retains its small town flavor with many local businesses and recreational trails. Orting is one of the oldest districts in the region and one of only two districts to gain students during the economic recession.
Our district comprised of 2400 students with a primary, elementary, middle and high school. Our district offers an online high school, advanced placement courses, gifted program, home school support and new this year sports teams now compete in the AA division. Our students also enjoy many clubs and after school activities.
Our highly trained staff dedicate themselves to providing a quality education for our students, tomorrow's leaders.
One of the most beautiful views in Washington State can be seen nearly everywhere in Orting. Mount Rainier on a sunny day in Orting is the view du jour.
Foot Hills Trail
The Foot Hills Trail system provides a wonderful recreational opportunity as it travels through Orting. Miles of trails have been created with more in development.
Carbon and Puyallup Rivers
Orting at the base of Mount Rainier is nestled between two rivers. To the east of town is the Carbon River, a favorite of fisherman. To the west flows the Puyallup River with excellent access for scenic nature walks.
