Dear Orting Families,
We believe that getting students ready for college, careers, and life means endowing Orting students with the grit and perseverance to tackle and achieve their goals through a growth mindset that empowers them to approach their future with confidence and the social and emotional skills they will need for success in the future. It has been truly wonderful to see the enthusiasm and participation around our culture of caring work to support this mission. Everywhere I look I see examples of students, staff, and community members practicing strong character traits such as patience, humility, and forgiveness - and recognizing those traits in others!
We would like to invite you all to a special event, Caring Connections, on January 24th at 6PM at Orting High School to celebrate our work so far, and to reinforce connections between strong character, strong community, and life readiness. We'll have student performances and presentations, special guest speaker John Norlin from Character Strong, and a few surprises along the way! You can further engage in this important work by completing a monthly "Dare to Care" around the trait of the month, and share your stories on social media with the hashtag #OrtingCares. We have had the pleasure of partnering with various community organizations to sponsor a trait each month - from the Orting Valley Senior Center to Orting Valley Fire and Rescue!
We look forward to seeing you all at Caring Connections and spreading the love!
