OSD Board of Directors to Host Two 2022 Replacement Levy Listen and Learn Sessions Jan. 26 and Feb. 2

Listen and Learn Sessions

UPDATED: Feb. 1, 2022

On Wednesday, Jan. 26 and Feb. 2, the Orting School District (OSD) Board of Directors will host two listen and learn sessions for the public about the district's Replacement Educational Programs and Operations Levy on the Feb. 8 Ballot.

The Jan. 26 Session will be virtual via Google Meet, and the Feb. 2 Session will take place in-person at the Orting High School Performing Arts Center.

  • Orting High School - 320 Washington Ave N, Orting, WA 98360

Both sessions will begin at 6 p.m.

Taking place as special board meetings, Superintendent Ed Hatzenbeler will present a slideshow for attendees with information about the Feb. 8 Replacement Levy, such as:

  • District-wide programs and services that are partially funded by the state and fully-funded by the levy
  • How the current levy addresses the district's needs
  • How the 2022 levy will support the expected population growth in the OSD boundaries

2022 Replacement Levy Listen and Learn Session Presented by the OSD Board of Directors - Jan. 26, 2022

After the presentation, those who attend the sessions will have the opportunity to ask the OSD Board of Directors and Superintendent Hatzenbeler questions regarding the replacement levy.

Unlike previous levies, if approved, this replacement levy will last for four years (2023-26) instead of two. Also, it would replace the current two-year levy, which voters approved in 2020, which expires at the end of 2022.
