Orting Middle School 6th Grade Student Recognized for His Heroic Actions

At our April Regular Board Meeting, our Board of Directors recognized Orting Middle School 6th grade student, Colton. Earlier this year, Colton had shared with his bus driver, Jerry Brown, who has been the same bus driver for Colton since kindergarten, about a harrowing event he experienced when he had to call 9-1-1 because his grandfather was suffering from a heart attack. Colton's quick thinking ultimately saved his grandfather's life. After hearing his story, Brown, who is also a retired firefighter from Orting Valley Fire and Rescue, thought that Colton should be recognized for his bravery.

Thank you to Central Pierce Fire and Rescue and South Sound 911 for joining us to celebrate Colton's heroic efforts!
