What to know about the Oct. 19-22 Parent/Teacher Conferences

Between Oct. 19 and 22, Orting School District (OSD) schools will operate on half-day schedules for the fall semester parent and teacher conferences.

  • Orting Primary (OPS) - 8:50 to 11:45 a.m. (Oct. 19-22)
  • Ptarmigan Ridge Elementary (PTR) - 9 to 11:55 a.m. (Oct. 19-22)
  • Orting Middle School (OMS) - 7:55 to 10:25 a.m. (Oct. 21 and 22)
  • Orting High School (OHS)  - 7:45 to 10:15 a.m. (Oct. 21 and 22)

Our elementary schools (grades K-5) will conduct parent and teacher conferences with families. For the district to mitigate the COVID-19 spread, the conferences will be in a virtual setting.

Our secondary schools (grades 6-12) will not conduct parent and teacher conferences. Instead, they will talk to families about opportunities for student success during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Grades K-5 Parent and Teacher Conferences - Oct. 19-22
  • Grades 6-12 Parent and Teacher Conferences - Oct. 21 and 22

Orting Primary School (OPS) and Ptarmigan Ridge Elementary School (PTR) teachers will reach out to families to set up parent and teacher conferences and send the virtual conference link.

Orting Middle School (OMS) and Orting High School (OHS) still plan to reach out to families about their students and the 2021-22 school year. However, instead of conferences, they will focus on talking to families about:

  • Family communication
  • Increasing opportunities for quarantine and absent students
  • Accessing data on struggling students

If families have any questions regarding their child's parent and teacher conference, contact their child's school.
