Orting Track and Field Girls Team Takes Home 3rd Place Trophy and a State Championship Title

At the end of May, the Orting High School Track and Field team traveled to the WIAA State meet to compete against the top 16 athletes in the state in the respective events.

The Orting girls team came home with the 3rd place trophy, led by Myquela Pride, who was on the podium for all 4 of her events, and the state champion in both the 100 Hurdles and Triple Jump. Along the way, Myquela also shattered the school records in the 100 and 300 Hurdles! Hayli Bond also made 4 stellar performances at the state meet, including 6th in the 200, and a school record 100, narrowly missing the finals in one of the fastest fields in state history! Hayli also carried the 4x100 and 4x200 relays along with Zoe Shrode, Emma Lespagnard, and Trinity Backman. Rian Aten qualified and competed in the Javelin in her final event as a senior.

On the boys' side, Aiden Mendenhall placed 5th overall in the Triple Jump. Chse Brouhard cleared the 11'6 in the pole vault as well.

Congratulations, Cardinals!
